Sexuality and Activism

These mainstream porn platforms’ success is the direct result of the taboo we have about sexuality in our society. Sex workers are professional, working an actual job, and they deserve to work safely. Unfortunately, these mainstream websites prevent them from having a safe workspace environment that would allow them to work in decent and humane conditions.

As you may have noticed, my feminist beliefs and my activism are deeply connected to the way I see sexuality. It is impossible for me to talk about sex without talking about these essential subjects, because to me there is no way around them if you want to blossom and grow in your sexuality, and so you can also have a good sexual health.

It so happens that the sexuality of women and minorities—meaning people who don’t belong to the dominating group, whether we are talking about origins, religion, gender, or sexual orientation—has been largely oppressed by patriarchy, racism, or the demonization of sex education. Instead of allowing women to live their sexuality freely, and blossom through it, Western society has constantly and violently forbidden them pleasure, and has prevented them from feeling comfortable in this aspect of their lives by encouraging feelings of guilt and worry. This is also the case for other minorities, with the fetishization of racialized bodies, the sexualization of lesbian sex through the male gaze, or other forms of systemic sexual oppression linked to gender or sexual orientation.

So, on top of sexual taboo—which, as we’ve seen earlier, creates a lot of gaps in our sexual education—there is this social phenomenon that unscrupulously oppresses women and minorities’ sexuality.

And yet, sexuality is a natural thing. It is truly part of human nature. If you want to learn more about this, I invite you to follow my Instagram account, and to read my first book (Bien Dans Ma Tête, Bien Dans Ma Culotte! Kiwi 2020, available only in French). There are also plenty of other Instagram accounts and books that answer the questions you may ask yourself about all this. Because even if our relationship to sexuality is still not perfect, things are changing: information is circulating and getting richer, and words are breaking the taboo. By the way, we suggest many books and Instagram accounts at the end of this book!

Even though this book’s purpose is not sexual education per se, its goal is nonetheless to guide you toward your right to pleasure. Learning to know yourself sexually thanks to the stars can allow you to connect more deeply to your inner Self and your sexuality, and find fulfillment in pleasure.
